I have just finished 2 more tops and have gotten one of those ready for quilting.

 
This one I am going to quilt on machine – I am not very good at it but will have to start somewhere – right?

 
This one I have gotten sandwiched and ready to quilt by hand in a swirly pattern suggested in the magazine I got the pattern from. Actually both designs are from the very same magazine that I really like when I can get my hand on one – Patchwork & quilting, this is from vol 15 no 2. Very accurate and nice patterns!

My oldest daughter has gotten a good bit done on her bedquilt and she would like to show you what she’s doing during her summer break. This is a little bit more than a third of the finished size.

I have also worked on a quilt from Popular Patchwork issue 6:2007 called Going round in circles. I am finished with the top and have started to handquilt it the way the magazine suggested – with pretty large stitches round the circles and with 2 threads dmc – and it looks pretty as a candy

I also have made a great start to Living the dream that i got a couple of weeks ago.It is a real pleasure to stitch on. It is also the largest quilt I have worked on…

I forgot to tell you how the story of my iron continued. As you know it stopped getting warm after just 6 months of use so I returned it to the store. They sent it away to the producer for them to look at and then return it if possible to mend.

It wasnt possible! So I got a new one – a notch better than my old one! Thank you Bosch! But of course it has a downside and that is that it is a little bit heavy so the time I’m able to use it will be shorter. But I love it anyway!

I just had to start Shabby Chic immidiately and am now sorry to say that I am finished – it was a lovely and nice project to work with!

I have also finished part 4 of Journey of a quilter – but have managed to make it a bit too small – wonder how that on earth happened as I am following the directions very carefully – but I will salvage this part by sewing a strip to each side – I dont think it will be too obvious!

I have also finished the top to Jellyroll junction and am pleased with the look – now on to quilting it!

Last night I also started stitching the first piece of stitching on Ruth’s quilt aftre my DH made me a little lighting

Look at what was waiting for me when I arrived home from vacation! Its like Christmas!

The quilting books I ordered a while back. Im most pleased with the top one. Im not sure that I will have any use for the other one. Anyone want to trade?

A couple of magazines – Quiltmaker and Popular patchwork. I really like the quilt on the front on Popular patchwork - am really tempted to make that one…
 

Living the dream by Leanne’s House. I got the book all the way from Australia (and fast shipping it was). That quilt on the front I am going to make. I think I will use the fabrics from America in the previous post.

During my trip to visit my father I almost finished block three of Journey of a quilter by Leanne’s House – but you will have to wait until its finished for a pic.

This is also what I got in my latest haul from my last paycheck :-( and they are from a shop here in Sweden in the Winsome Baby line from Nancy Halvorsen – love her colors! It is abouts the same yardage as the next fabric photo and the cost in swedish kronor is more than double the cost of the package from America

This is a order I got today from America – and I must say that I am VERY impressed with the shipping time – it only took 4 days to get to me in Sweden! They are all from the Gossamer Petals line from South Sea Imports and very lovely and fresh in the colors.

This is a smaller pack of pale colors that I really have very little of.

This is how the Lilac quilt looks like on my DD#3s bed. I think I have to make her some lilac pillows as well – the pink ones dont look so good anymore. I think she has had those since she was very little if I think about it! Now she’s 11! How the years fly by!

I even has got my oldest DD to start a quilt she plans on putting on her bed before school starts August 20. This is how she plans that it will look like – a little bit scrappy but colorful and happy – her word! So far she has made all the blocks and was about to iron the last ones when the iron just wouldn’t become warm . so another household item one needs that bites the dust. Must buy a new one today if not the warranty still goes for the old one – hopes so when I go there tonight.

I got so inspired looking att Sisters Choice Quilts that I just had to start a variation of the Jelly Roll Junctions ones. I really love how it turns out too! Not the very best photo in colors but it is pouring down rain here and is very dark and grey . I know that three of the ones in the picture hast the same fabric but it will be more colors added – only the light pink one is the same for all blocks so it is sort of a organized scrappy one .

 Later in the afternoon I hope to engage one or more of the family in helping me crawl around the floor putting the Lilac quilt together so I can start quilting it. That one I will mashinequilt in the ditch. Perhaps I even take the time to wash and iron my latest splurgings… and then show you of course!

Its been a long time since I showed you something but havent been in the mood for doing anything crafty but now I feel the need coming agains. Thats why I have started one new quilt and continued 2 more – I feel very good!

The new start is a lilac quilt I designed myself but you only see the middle and the left side of it as my sewing machine broke down last night . Im very pleased with the look of it so far – and so is my DD.

I have also finished the top for my handpieced tumbling blocks sofa cover and am now thinking about how to quilt it – Im not too fond of in the ditch quilting so would love to hear other thoughts about how to quilt it.

I have also finished a total of 3,5 handpieced hexagons for the Shamrock quilt.

And then the project I started yesterday – a scrappy tumbling blocks quilt that will be a cover for the sofa – to protect it a little bit from cathair and kid crumblings (even though they are rather big now they still crumble a lot)

Im finally finished with part two of Chatelaine’s Mystery X. And here is the proof! And I have started part three today too! Not a good pic though – it is soo much more shiny and rich in color in real life.

Otherwise I havent been sticthing or sewing much lately – have been working a lot and have had much ordinary household things to do – like preparing the garden for spring, that is joy and baking for a birthday, that is not as fun.

I am not continuing the quilt I had started last time I blogged (is that a word?) because it is something that doesnt feel right about it – cant put my finger on what though…
But as I need to have something in my hands in front of the TV I have started handpiecing a scrappy quilt with mostly thimbleberry fabrics (some other beige added too) and have finished 2,5 hexagon of Jinny Beyers design “Shamrock” and am very pleased about the look of them – maybe I can remember to take a pic tomorrow…
